Praying

I have always struggled with praying. I either a- get lost and wander on to some other thought, or b-start rambling and lose my train of thought when I'm praying in a large group. But this past week, I feel God has taught me how to truly pray. I have never prayed so hard, and so concentrated in my life. About life, and my own family experiences that we are going through right now, but mainly for Haiti, and not just the missionaries that are there, but the people that live there, that have to face disaster after disaster, and struggle day to day enough, and also for the children that have families waiting for them in other countries, i do not want to refer to them as orphans because they do have families waiting for them, and also for the thousands of others that have now lost their families. Because of this awful tragedy God has taught me how to pray.

Thank you so much for the link for my friend who is wanting to go to work in Haiti. I have passed the information along...hoping that this is the answer to her search. She is just a little older than you are.

Regarding your post...prayer life is so important...it truly is the communication line between yourself and God. Prayer doesn't have to be eloquent or well-versed...just from your heart. God already knows what you are thinking. This was something that helped me to remember when I prayed. I have just now started to feel comfortable praying in groups such as our Sunday School class...out loud. I just try to remember that my prayer doesn't have to be impressive to others...just talking to my Lord and Savior. I hope I am not coming across as too "preachy", I just wanted to share what has helped me. I think through tragedies such as Haiti, we truly see the importance of prayer. God Bless You and thank you again for sharing your information.

My friend has really struggled with what to do. She has emailed several groups and hasn't gotten much response...She doesn't give up easily though. She really feels that God is calling her to go...and she is ready to leave tomorrow! ;)
