Ten on tuesday!-- 2

It's that time of the week again, and this week seemed pretty interesting (maybe put my creative writing skills to use?)

1. Quick! Zombies are coming!! What do you do?
I grab my basics, laptop, toothbrush, hairbrush, deodorant, cell phone, maybe some clothes and run!!!

2. Whew, that was a close one. …I think your phone is ringing. Oh, it’s your best friend! She thinks she’s been bitten by a zombie. What advice do you give her?
Well, I tell her she was a good friend to me, but well, once they bite, there's nothing left to do, enjoy your few minutes being "normal", and don't try to find me if you turn into one.

3. You realize it’s time to leave your current location because it’s clearly not safe anymore. Are you going to move at night or day? Defend your reasoning.
Day, it's a no brainer, because don't zombies hate sunlight? or is that a different mystical being? Also because more people are going to be out during the day, so easier to push them in to path of the zombies...

4. During your relocation, you come across a weapon superstore. My, that’s convenient. What kind of weaponry do you choose?
I'm no weapon expert, but I think I might go for a really big knife, a machete might do nicely, to well... you can fill in the gaps....

5. As you leave, an old lady on the side of the street begs you to help her. Do you? Why or why not?
This is a tough one... I guess I would help her because I would feel pretty guilty about it later, and she's an elder "respect your elders" and that includes getting them to safety in times of zombie attacks, maybe not vampire attacks but definitely zombies.

6. Good choice, you’re clearly a good person to have around in a zombie apocalypse. Oh hey, there’s a wifi signal here! You can’t stay long but this is your chance to gather some intel on the current situation. What’s the first website you check?
Facebook, got to see who's still alive by their updated statuses.

7. SHH! What was that noise?!
A hungry little kitten searching for some food.

8. I think it’s time to get out of here. I hope you have a plan. Where are you going now?
The docks,  to get a boat to get out of here and fast!

9. Wait a minute, that looks like a bite mark on your arm… You may be infected too! Will you tell other people?
No, or else it will ruin my plan of world domination... muh hahahahahahah!!!!

10. How does this story end?
I turn into one of them, and begin to take over the world as their leader!

Well that was fun, hope to never actually have to run in to the situation

Remember, remember...

Remember remember the 12th of January.

Anyone in blog land feel the emotional impact of the earthquake in Haiti that afternoon? I do, I was then glued to blogs, facebook, and twitter making sure the people I knew down there were okay. I was also planning my second trip back there with some friends. It was devestating too see all the pictures, film footage, and here the stories from friends down there, it broke my heart in two, and still does to this day. What people didn't realize then is what a beautiful country Haiti was and still is to this day, that the people are healing, in all ways, They are strong people.

Fast foward to two months later...

Do you remember the country that is now in ruins, that UNICEF is trying to corrupt, that needs healing and the love of God more than it ever has? Do you still pray, send out good vibes, what ever you can?

Do you still remember?

Tales from the Basketball court

The other night I had a opportunity to sit with 7 amazing teenage girls that I have known to love over the past six months or so. Every week I get to hang out with them and we talk about out lives, boys, sports, school, God or what ever that is on their minds, most of the time we don't even touch on the subjects that are on the paper in front of me. Last week we met at an unusual place, in some cold weather, a school field on a basketball court. While there we enjoyed pizza, games, and drawing and writing on the court in chalk, each girl, my self included, wrote two inspirational messages, everything from Jesus loves you to every one deserves a second chance (I forgot to take my camera to take pictures) then we all huddled on to the blanket in the cold, and I shared my story, my testimony, followed by my other leader. Once everyone was gone one on my girls wanted to share hers with us, so we moved the three of us into my car, and she poured her heart out. I was speachless, she was 14 and had been through so much over her few years of life. It never occurred to me that some ones life could be that bad, for me I thought it was fictional. It broke my heart, and there isn't a thing I can do about even now a few days later. So my lesson to you is even though some one looks perfectly put together on the outside they can be a wreck on the inside, talk, hug, pray, smile, just be there for them.

Ten on tuesday!

I personally love ways to connect to other blogs and get mine out there, and today I found a new weekly feature you can look forward to so here's my TEN ON TUESDAY!

1. Of your current hobbies, which would you choose to spend more time, money, and effort on? Why?
I would probably choose sewing whether it be quilting or making clothes, because I hope to complete my current short term dream of yearly making over a hundred items of children's clothes and pick a different orphanage and country to bless them with these items, and right now I am finding it very hard to find time, money et cetra to do this.

2. List the two other hobbies/habitual activies (not chores) besides the one listed above that you regularly do now and didn’t choose in question one.
Probably scrapbooking and reading.

3. Why are you spending time on the above two hobbies/habitual activies at all if you really wanted to spend your time on the first one you chose?  …or to put it another way, what are these two hobbies/habitual activities fullfilling that the first one doesn’t if you don’t want to put all your effort into the first hobby?
For me the resources are there and scrapbooking is usually a social events with a couple friends and my sister.

4. Ready John 3:16 in the bible… In what way does this passage affect you?  What are your feelings towards these words, positively or negatively?
For me it is comforting, that we are going to live forever with our savior, that he is there for us no matter what we do. We could do something completely horrible and yet he will forgive us if we ask for it, (though we still shouldn't do anything and yet live a godly life).

5. M&M’s: nuts, no nuts, or peanut butter?
Nuts, hands down the best M&M's.

6. Putting away the feeling of pride being a bad thing; what secretly/openly are you proud about yourself?
That I am the first one in my family to go and get a post-secondary education and degree (aside from my step-dad's family), my older cousins either never went or went one year and decided it wasn't for them, and my aunts and uncles, and parents never went (actually my mom went back to school when I was younger).

7. Given one room in the house to do with what you want, not changing the actual size of the room and with all the money you would need, what would you do, and be specific?  (this can range from bouncy floor, walls & ceilings; to hard wood floor with wood paneling and purple ceiling with a chair; to nothing)
First off I would make an office/ craft room. First off would take out the current window replacing it with picture window with bay seating, with tons of storage undernieth it. Lots of shelving, and a big old desk used for my computer, scrapbooking, and sewing, the floors would be hardwood, and everything would be painted in an antique-y off white to make the room look old, in one corner a huge comfy chair then a old wooden desk chair to complete the look, with french doors.

8. What’s the next movie you’re going to see?  Not what you’d LIKE to GO see, but the next movie you realistically are going to watch.
Honestly I don't know, but I did go to a movie last night to see Percy Jackson and the Olympians.

9. Use the keyboard only and make your best smiley/funny/cool face –> like this! 8^)
<:P

10. What makes you cry? What makes you pray? What makes you laugh?
Cry-- Almost anything, I'm an overemotional girl, what can I say!
Pray-- Life right now, there is so much going on inside me, around me, and everywhere that sometime I can't fix, so I pray, which is a big thing for me since it's been the one thing I have struggled with in the past.
Laugh-- My siblings, my funny group of grade nine girls, and there prayer requests, for me, like one night we were doing popcorn prayer when one of my girls prayed that me and a certain boy would get together and date, which caused me to laugh during our prayer time. And Finally my friends, make me laugh with the things we do and say.

Waiting on God

While spring is around the corner, there is one thing that is definitely in the air, which if you haven't guessed it yet, it's love. Yes, the oh so wonderful thing called love. It's wonderful if you are with someone, but if you're not, it could be well, painful as I have come to realize since the days past valentines. I am 20 years old and have yet to be on a date, and before I used to think it was the end of the world, especially when I was in high school and my first year in university. But in the last couple of weeks I have slowly learned that it is okay, that I have yet to find the right person because I can not choose him, God must choose him. You see I do not know my self well enough, unlike God, he knows every detail about me and has the perfect man waiting for me. As I mentioned in the previous post I, in the mean time, am writing letters to my future husband, all of them entitled to my love. As hard as it is, and as picky as I may seem at times, all of this happens for a reason, God's reason, and I must wait on him and my husband for God will bring us together.

A letter to your future spouse

Have you thought about your future spouse? I have. I'm impatient when it come to this, for me, I'm ready to get married now, sure I may only be 20, but I feel as if I have waited long enough me
"my love". That is what I call him, while I am waiting for him to enter my life. It has been a hard long wait as I have not dated through out high school or my first years of high school. There was a time up until yesterday even, that I thought this wasn't fair. But last night, as I laid in bed, reading blogs, I came across a book "When God writes your love story" which had me thinking, that I cannot control this, I have to wait on his time, as he has the perfect man out there for me. I struck me last night, why whenever I talk to me uncle he always tells me he prays for both me and "my love." So now I am not going to worry about the subject, and just pray. And in the mean time... I started a journal last night, to fill with prayers and letters all to him, that on the night of our wedding I will give to him. It could be a long book full of them or could end up being short. We'll see how it goes.

What's stopping you?

I ask my self that on a daily basis? And I use the same excuses everyday, money, time, school etc.  Everyone has the one thing they want to do in life, a passion they want to put to work, mine, helping children. I have so many ideas, but I either don't know where to start or it just seems too big for a twenty year old to see happen at this stage in life. At a young I have a spot in my heart for the orphaned, and I want to see people do something, but what is stopping these people? Money. I want to raise money to have grants for people to be able to be able to help children. So what is stopping me? I have no clue?

So what's stopping you from seeing your dream out?

Since all the cool people are doing it!

Well It seems to be the cool thing to link up to blog parties/carnivals so here it goes!

1.
What is your favourite time of day, and why?
Well, it would probably have to be first thing in the morning when I am still all cozy in bed, nice and warm, when you are still half asleep and you just want to keep that amazing dream that is playing in your head to keep going, ho
ping
the sweet memory is real.

2.
If health wasn't an issue, what food could you live off of?
Chocolate chip cookie! They are my favourite
thing to go with my mochas at my favourite little coffee shop,
 or any where really

3.
If you could have one wish granted (besides wishing for more wishes) what would it be?
Probably to have my student loans paid off, as selfish as that sounds. As much as I would like to eliminate poverty etc. I would rather pay off my loans, and go out into the world to enable people to live, and make their own lives instead of having someone hand everything to them.

4.
What is one thing you get teased about a lot?
My clumsy-ness. Enough said.

5.
If you could choose one movie, book, or TV show to spend your life in, which would you pick? What type of character would you be?
I would have to be "This lullaby" by Sarah Dessen. I absolutely love this book, and goes down as my all time favourite. As for what type of character I would be, one of the band members girlfriend, just so I could be apart of their craziness.

6.
If you could have one talent that you don't already have, what would it be?
To be able to play the piano, I have no musical ability what so ever so it would be nice to have some.

7.
If money were no object, where would you go on vacation?
Does around the world count? But it would be to Greece, it is just so beautiful and the culture is amazing, plus i want to smash a plate and yell OPA!

8.
If you were an awesome singer, which genre would you sing?
Country, I just love their voices.

9.
If you could have a $10,000 shopping spree to one store, what would it be?
Chapters, That would be a lot of books :)

10.
If you could live in any point in time, when would it be?
The 1920's, the days of jazz, short hair, dresses, and a whole lot of fun!

11.
If every outfit in your wardrobe had to be one color, what would it be?
PINK!!
I already wear a lot of pink so it probably isn't too far off from the truth.

12.
If you were one of the seven dwarves, which one would you be?
Probably Happy, since he is always so happy.

13.
What's the last album you listened to?
The hairspray soundtrack

hairspray-soundtrack.jpg

14.
What's something we'd be surprised to know about you?
Hmm... thats pretty hard, but I Love to since and dance in my car on my way to school!
